“Sit Stay Love” by Dana Mentink is a light romantic novel, which was a joy to read. Although the romance angle was an ordinary scenario, the presence of a pet was redeeming.
Professional pitcher, Cal Crawford, has been entrusted with the care of his deceased mother’s elderly pooch. Because he is too busy to take care of her, he hires a dog-sitter to do the job for him.
Gina has been coerced by her cousin to fill in as the sitter since she is under the weather. The first meeting between Gina and Cal does not bode well for their working together. But, after meeting Tippy, Gina falls in love with the dog and is determined to do her best to care for her.
As the two are thrown together by family and work-related circumstances, they develop a different attitude about each other. I thought the dog was a great addition to the romantic story.
I found this novel entertaining and humorous. I enjoyed reading a novel that was light and carefree. I was sent a free print copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity and Harvest House in return for my honest review.
