“A Refuge at Highland Hall” by Carrie Turansky

“A Refuge at Highland Hall” is book three in Carrie Turansky’s Edwardian Brides series.  After reading this I will definitely be reading the first two books.  Set in England during World War I, this novel gives a glimpse of what it was like for the aristocracy and commoner alike during the conflict.  The story is very compelling because Penny and Alex both support the war effort and in doing that put their interests in the background.  Their correspondence develops into true romantic feelings for them, but dangers of the war will not permit them to act on these feelings until an unfortunate accident leads them to each other.  I very much enjoyed this book set in English wartime.

I received a print copy of this book from Blogging for Books in return for my honest review.
