“As Love Blooms” by Lorna Seilstad is novel in the Gregory Sisters series. Hannah, Charlotte and Tessa are sisters who have lost both parents and their farm and have moved to their Aunt Sam’s home in St. Paul Minnesota. This novel is about Tessa. Tessa is studying horticulture at college and is adamant that she wants to design flower gardens. She especially wants to acquire a job at the prestigious Como Park in St. Paul. She has to masquerade as a boy in order to fool the superintendent of the park as she helps a very handsome park employee who is also trying to make his mark in the horticultural world. This is another sweet novel in the series. There was only one flaw that I noticed. I believe that the attempt to extort money from Aunt Sam by some dastardly characters seems a bit contrived to add a little spice to the story. It came out of nowhere it seemed to me. However, it did not dull the appreciation I had for this book and Ms. Seilstad’s writing.
I was sent a print copy of this book by Revell Publishing in return for my honest review of the novel.
