“The Proposal at Siesta Key” by Shelley Shepard Gray

“The Proposal at Siesta Key” by Shelley Shepard Gray is the second book in the Amish Brides of Pinecraft series.  The Pinecraft Amish community is near Sarasota, Florida is called the Amish Snowbird Community.  Many Mennonite and Amish come to Pinecraft for vacationing.

In this book, Ms. Gray writes in her usual gifted way about Penny Troyer, a young Amish girl who has been sheltered by her parents her whole life and who is determined to get out and meet friends.  She decides to attend an evangelical meeting of the Knoxx family.  Michael Knoxx lost part of his leg in an accident and spends his time giving inspirational talks along with his family.  Michael and Penny both want something more out of life then they currently are experiencing.  At the expense of disappointing their families, both decide that now is the time to spread their wings and have a life of their own.  It is heart-warming that they find that they can do this together.  This is a very sweet novel.  I enjoyed it very much and hope to read more stories about Pinecraft, Florida.

I was sent a free print copy of the book by Litfuse Publicity in return for my honest opinion of the book.
