“Called to Be Amish” by Marlene C. Miller

“Called to Be Amish” by Marlene C. Miller is a little different from the Amish novels I’ve read previously.  This is an autobiographical novel, written by a woman who was English, but who studied and was accepted into the Amish religion.  I found this book fascinating because Marlene had a very unhappy childhood.  She fell in love with a very nice young Amish man.  She decides to join the Amish faith and this story is her life journey through learning about this new life style, being baptized and joining the community.  She is finally able to leave her unhappy, abusive previous life behind and live a life knowing God’s love.  I enjoyed reading the real story about this sect.

I received a free print copy of the book from LitFusegroup.com in return for my honest opinion of the novel.
