“The Desire” by Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley

“The Desire” by Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley is the story of a couple struggling with infertility which is becoming hard on their relationship.  Both Michele and Alan are spiritual people, very active in their church and very family oriented.

Discouragement comes in the form of a large family, many of whom do not understand the hopelessness and despair which the young couple experiences each time it is evident that they are not pregnant.  Michele is struggling more than Alan.  Alan is very involved in his church’s ministry to the orphans in Africa.  As the story progresses, one can see that this couple’s faith in God is questioned and then after they both decide to leave their situation up to the Lord, they find that there are always solutions to any problem.

I enjoyed reading this novel because my husband and I were in a similar situation early in our marriage and know the emotional struggles, depression, and even jealousy of couple with children that couples with infertility issues experience.  It brought back a lot of memories.  I  highly recommend this book. to friends and family.

I was sent a free print copy by RevellBooks.com in return for my honest review.
