“Wishing on Willows” by Katie Ganshert

I enjoyed reading Wishing on Willows by Katie Ganshert, who also wrote Wildflowers from Winter.

This story is about a young widow Robin Price and her son, three-year-old son, Caleb.  She is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the death of her husband.  She owns a bakery in Peaks, Iowa and is doing pretty well.  The only problem is that developers want to build condos and a shopping area where her bakery stands.  She is bound and determined that she will not sell.

Ian McKay is the son of the developer and has come to town to make the arrangements to buy the businesses and land needed for the new development.  Of course Brooke doesn’t want to sell, but the town really needs this new business.  Ian and Brooke have both lost their loves and are wary of becoming involved again.

This is a really well-written novel.  I think you will enjoy finding out what happens between Brook and Ian and the rest of Peaks, Iowa.

Night Owl Review and Waterbrook Press sent a print advance reading copy in return for my honest review
