“A Perfect Square” by Vanetta Chapman

“A Perfect Square” by Vanetta Chapman Is an Amish mystery featuring Deborah Yoder and Callie Harper in another Shipshewana, Indiana mystery.  This story features Esther, who happens upon the body of a young woman on the Rueben and Tobias Fisher farm.  Forensic evidence points to Rueben as the murderer.  Rueben is sort of a recluse and very seldom mingles with the townspeople.  Of course, Deborah and Callie know that Rueben is innocent, and just have to find a way to prove it.

Throughout the story, I formed opinions about who the guilty party was and the reasons for the death of the young woman.  Never let it be said that a Shipshewana mystery is a straightforward read.  I had so many suspects in my head throughout reading the story, which it was hard to determine exactly who the culprit was.  I can’t say it was a surprise at the end, but it is the “between” the start and end of the book that makes this an interesting story.

I received a free print copy of this book for my honest review from the publisher. The opinions expressed here are my own.
